About Sketch House

As a UAL student, this summer you can stay at Sketch House - our bright and vibrant hall based right in the heart of Finsbury Park.

This is a perfect location for guests wishing to be close to our UAL colleges and with great transport links into central London.

Sketch House's interior is inspired by the artist community in the area.

Each flat cluster has 6 to 10 bedrooms and a contemporary communal kitchen-living area.

Once the accommodation team has received your completed enquiry form, we will assess our room availability and get back to you. If we have rooms available, you will be invited to book a room via the otherwise we will advise you of alternative options.

If you are a Summer Study Abroad, Pre-sessional student or students currently in halls looking for accommodation in summer can book a room at the directly when bookings open.

Details to know before you arrive

Check in and out

Students can check in from 2pm.

You will be asked by reception staff or security to present your official ID or passport.

Students must check out no later than 10am on the day of departure.

Late check in

We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Sketch House office is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Outside of these hours, a member of our UAL Out of Hours Team or security will be present at reception to attend to general enquiries and assist with late check ins.

Breakfast

  • Daily continental breakfast with sustainably sourced ingredients is included.
  • We offer vegetarian options, but we do not cater for additional specific and individual dietary requirements.
  • Breakfast is served everyday from 7.30am to 10am.
  • Breakfast is served in the recreational room located on the ground floor.

Cleaning

Shared kitchens will be cleaned weekly. All rubbish will be collected and removed by staff. Guests are responsible for disposing of their own rubbish between the weekly cleans.

Shared kitchens are fully equipped with basic appliances but exclude crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

Please note that the washing up will not be done by our cleaners. Guests are responsible for washing up and cleaning up after themselves and keeping the kitchen tidy.

Linen change in bedroom are done once a week if your stay is more than 7 nights.

Pets

We have a strict no pets policy with an exception for guide and support dogs. If you bring your Guide or Assistance dog, they must be registered by Assistance Dogs International and the International Guide Dog Foundation.

If you are bringing your pet with, you must provide us with the information at the time you are making your booking.

Extending or cancelling your stay

Payment requirements

  • Payments are made online.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • We accept online card payment only.

Minimum age

  • We accept students who are aged 16 or 17 if they are studying with us doing a short course over the summer months.
  • We can consider accepting students aged 15 years old and under, if they are traveling with a parent/guardian or a responsible chaperone who will be with them at all times throughout the duration of their stay. In such cases, they will need to book an additional room.
  • Students who are aged 16 or 17, studying with us doing a short course over the summer months, will be allocated to the same flats.
  • We are not able to accommodate anyone under 16 years of age at our halls unless they are traveling with a parent or guardian who will always accompany them.
  • Parents and guardians must sign an online consent form if students who are 16-18 wish to stay at the hall by themselves.

Location

Finsbury Park is a very cultured and unique part of London and a perfect setting for Sketch House.

The hall is a 5-minute walk to the underground and national rail stations. Within walking distance are an array of cafes, bakeries and bars, including the famous Park Theatre café bar.
