Graphic Design Intermediate Short Course
Course description
Course overview
The course is designed to push you beyond the basics of graphic design with visual exercises, challenging projects, tutorials and group critiques. It is the follow-up to our Graphics Design Beginners Short Course.
This course is structured around challenging real-world briefs. After an initial discussion, you'll work in small groups on an initial project before finalising your own outcomes. These are then discussed in a group critique.
Please note that you are welcome to use your own computer if that's how you prefer to work, but digital techniques are not taught on this course.
This course is available both on campus or online.
Who this course is for
This course is designed for those who have completed an introductory short course in graphic design, and it assumes that you have some familiarity with the creative process. Verbal discussion of ideas, research and outcomes is a fundamental part of this course, so a good working command of English is recommended.
It is essential that students already have knowledge of basic graphic design concepts such as composition, colour, typography, layout, and visual identity.
This would be a useful course for students thinking of further study in graphic-related subjects.
