The 3-day international symposium (4-6 July 2024) investigated how the practice of field recording has changed amongst escalating ecological, political, social and financial challenges.

Event summary
350 attendees and over 80 presenters from all over the world.
Topics among many included:
- acoustic witnessing
- technology and ethics
- critical fieldcraft.
Presenters shared a diverse range of insights across peer reviewed presentations, workshops, sound and video works.
Looking ahead, we aim to develop further initiatives inspired by the ongoing collaborations and conversations following the symposiums.
